Give your family the night off from cooking and savor the original moveable feast

· Steamers News

A whole new season has opened on the Outer Banks. Springtime. A time when everything is fresh and new. Of course, things are always fresh at Steamers, and nothing will bring your taste buds back to life like our famous Steamer Pots To Go.

Steamer Pots To Go® are the original Outer Banks New England Style Clambake. Piled high with red bliss potatoes, corn on the cob, yellow onion, and a choice of seafood, including lobster, crabs, clams and mussels, they are truly the ultimate beach party fare.

“You can choose from Coastal Blend, Alaskan Crab, and Primo Pot or opt for just the shellfish you prefer in a Custom Build Steamer Pot,” says Chris Braswell, Chef and Co-Owner of Steamers. “No matter what you choose, our food is always the best and freshest that we can get. Our customers wouldn’t have it any other way, and neither would we.”

Each Steamer Pot comes with everything needed to enjoy your feast, including sauces, butter, lemon and seafood shellers, “It’s all packaged in its own pot for perfect steaming,” Chris added. “Just add water, steam, and treat your family and friends to a delicious feast!”

Fresh from the start: The Steamers Story

As spring is a time for new beginnings, we thought you might be interested in how this Outer Banks tradition for fresh and gourmet began. In 1994, Steamers Co-Owner Linda Coats came up with an idea for the original Outer Banks New England style clambake. She also had a great restaurant recipe: combine the high quality food of a big city restaurant with the casual atmosphere and fresh seafood of the beach.

“It seemed like a natural fit for Corolla and the Outer Banks,” Linda says. “The ideal way for the vacationing CEOs and their families and friends to enjoy the great food this area has to offer.”

A couple of years later, Steamers began focusing on take out. Then came the deck, with its gorgeous sunsets over Currituck Sound. Later, we added our Personal Chef services, which brings our chef to your small occasion, and Steamers Catering, the Outer Banks upscale caterer for larger gatherings such as weddings.

Today more than ever, Steamers is your source for fresh and gourmet on the Outer Banks. “Evolving to meet the needs and tastes of its upscale diners is what we do, and we love every minute of it!” Linda added.
